Gnomes (Year 2)

Welcome to Year 2!

Please follow the school on Twitter @BeckfootPriestthorpe and tweet me photos of what the children are up to.  I want to have a Twitter Book Club, so if your child has read a good book, they can tweet their review to help the other children.

I will keep adding to our class page and hope we can read books together, work on projects and ensure the children are enjoying learning at home over the coming weeks.

Please take care of all your families and we look forward to our return to full school.

Y2 Book Club

Hi children! I promised you we would read Danny the Champion of the World by Roald Dahl as our class book because I read it to every class I have ever had!  Because of copyright, I'm not sure I can read it to you (I am checking) so I am going to add links to someone else reading it on YouTube.  If you have the book at home, read along with me.

It would be fabulous if you could write letters, draw pictures of the characters and think about what will happen next in the story.

Our Social Action Project

Year 2's Social Action Project is to develop links to the local Methodist's church's OAP lunch group.  Every Wednesday, a group of children visit the group to make friends, talk about their childhood and find out what they had at lunch! Children love to visit the group and the adults really enjoy the children's conversations.  We also enjoyed inviting them to watch our nativity production and singing at their Christmas lunch! During the Spring term, we are going to invite the group into school to help us with our Easter crafts.
